Who said you can't play with your food?!? While this play dough might not be the best tasting... it is a fun food to make and play with, no matter what your age!
Ingredients:
1 cup flour
Ingredients:
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
1 tsp cream of tartar
1 cup hot water
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
food coloring as desired
1. combine flour, salt, cream of tartar in sauce pan
2. Combine hot water, oil, and food coloring in separate bowl
3. Combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients in sauce pan
4. Mix well
5. Using medium heat, stir, the mixture continously until a lump begins to form
6. While still tacky, remove dough from sauce pan and knead like bread dough, until smooth like play dough. Store in a plastic bag.
I hope you enjoy this recipe. It is a good recipe to use with children. Perhaps you are working at a camp or after school program? You could suggest this activity as a nice rainy day project. Or if you have kids of your own, this homemade play dough will surely be a hit with the younger crowds. Try it with your younger cousins, nephews, and nieces, too!
